S&R has remodeled a variety of basements. Usually, we take a space that’s not being used to its full potential. We transform old basements to bright spaces you will use every day. Taking small spaces and making them usable is our specialty.
We work with our customers to help design the space so it works for you. We can remove your dark paneling and put up drywall and paint, to brighten your basement. Or we can enclose unsightly unfinished areas to give your basement that finished home look. We can enclose ceiling pipes and electrical wires to create a well finished basement.
Lighting your basement can be the difference between having useable space, and not being able to use it for what you need. It is better to add more light that you can dim down versus not enough. Recessed lighting is popular due to ceiling height issues that usually arise in basements.
According to a Madison-area 2007 cost-vs-value report by Hanley Wood, you can recover 69.6 percent of your investment at resale for basement remodeling.
Find out before you begin a project whether or not there will be sub-contractors working on your remodeling job. If there are, you should independently interview and approve each sub-contractor. This is YOUR project they are working on, and you are hiring them. Know who is going to be completing your remodeling job.
